Carnival costume balls are part of Rio Carnival celebration. With a wide range of themes, the Rio Scala Balls are the most famous and the most affordable ones. They take place nightly from Thursday before carnival starts to Fat Tuesday.

But there is also the chic and sumptuous Magic Ball at the famous Copacabana Palace Hotel, on Saturday February 13 this year. The Sofitel Bal Masqué closes the ball series on Saturday after carnival, the 20th of February.
